phenna_family
Hi Everyone, Because I have only had my chickens nearly two weeks, please forgive me for asking this question, my husband Reg thinks I am barmy but I am only thinking about my chickens. Their combs are just starting to grow and they look a little dry, is this normal? do I need to put anything on them, I know you put vaseline on in the winter, but do you need to put anything on them in the summer. Will be most thankful for any advice Claire
Egluntyne
No...I'd leave them. Creams might cause sunburn......Unless you use factor 30! I wouldn't bother at this stage.
kannie
We never put anything on ours. Did put some vaseline on during very cold weather the first winter, but it just made the peanuts dirty.
geb0205
No, another vote for nothing here. I always wondered if they got sunburn on their combs... how would you tell?!
