chickencam
My ED has just ordered one of these with her her hard earned cash. We will be having it on 30 day trial and I was just wondering if anyone has experience of this machine and it's long term reliability. It is so hard to find neutral information about sewing machines. chickencam
She ordered it from Singer direct Coopers sewing machines. It was ordered at 11.40pm on Sunday and arrived at 7am Tuesday, now that's what I call service. It is very quiet except in embriodery mode and quite amzing in what it does, it will take her a while to fully get the hang of it though. Any tips on machine emroidery would be greatly appreciated. chickencam
We are sending the machine back, because the button hole functions don't work, we think it is a sensor problem. We are beginning to see another side to Coopers sewing machines, now
craftyhunnypie
I had a brother embroidery machine. It was good, but with all my other crafts I do, I found it lived in the cupboard too much - so I sold it. I would recommend brother machines though - very good & easy to use. Plum
I think with embroidery machines you just turn them on and go and make a cup of coffee don't you Shame it's gone back but any machine can have a hiccup at first, as long as you get good service . Are they replacing it with the same machine?
chickencam
They are supposed to be confirming it as faulty then replacing with a new machine, we have stuck a tiny yellow sticker to the underside, so that we know it we get the same machine back. I have mixed feelings so far, some of the service has been excellent, but I spoke to a very aggresive manager on Tuesday, we shall see. Now that it is going back ED has decided that it is the best machine ever, and wants it back ASAP. She was unsure about it before.
Snowy
I've only just read this Chickencam, sorry. I've heard some very negative reports about Coopers customer service I'm afraid At least forwarned is forarmed - don't let them mess you about! chickencam
They are being a bit tricky, I have to say. They told us that if they collected it Wednesday it would be on their bench this morning, they would confirm it as faulty and send out a replacement by return. They are now telling me that it won't be with them until 3-4pm this afternoon, and probably won't be despatched until Friday at the earliest. We are away next week, so we are going to have to have the replacement delivered to my husband's office, so you can guarentee that they will deliver before 9am. This all means that ED can't take it away with her which she wanted to do, so she could spend the next week or so sewing before she goes back to school. We are hoping it will come back before Tuesday lunchtime, because we are having to come back to collect her GCSE results, fingers crossed. OH is a solicitor, so he has said that if they give me any trouble later, he will have a word, hopefully it won't come to that, I hate conflict. We won't take any nonsence though. chickencam
Ok had to get OH involved, we are going to get a refund through the credit card company hopefully. I would warn people about Coopers sewing machines, also trading as Singerdirect, they are not Singer they are agents and poor ones at that. We ordered from them thinking that we were ordering direct from Singer. We have been lied too repeatedly and enough is enough. We were impressed by their delivery speed but that was where it ended. chickencam
It is good cop bad cop here. OH has been dealing with the female manager and she has agreed to pay the extra courier charge to get a replacement machine sent out tomorrow morning before we go away. I wait with baited breath
