Recommended Posts

check whether there are eggs under neath her if not then there maybe a possibility of illness but if there are she has only turned broody

if u want to stop her from being broody then all you have to do is to remove the eggs everyday she will soon get bored and mover off the nest

If she is broody and it sounds like she is apart from removing the eggs everyday make sure you turf her out of the nestbox to make sure she eats and drinks everyday. A persistant broody can sit for a long time, one of mine was broody for three months.

Ok... Little update... I moved her twice today, placing her in the free ranging area and took the eggs away. She went to eat and drink right away. Rita, a particularly bald ex-batt, ran right up to her and battered her! She was so cruel I threw a watering can of water over her! Do you think poor Ida is hiding in the nesting box because of bullying?
