Top price you would pay for Cube + run on ebay?

Recommended Posts

I have been watching some of the ones that come up for sale on ebay, and note that they always sell quite well and fetch a good price.

A cube + 2m run new is £595 + carriage.

How much would you bid up to if saw one used for sale. ?? bearing in mind the cost of a new one. xx

Thanks for your thoughts on pricing. It is a difficult one I know and everyone has a limit as to what would want to pay.

I agree that stuff can go for silly prices on ebay, and have in fact had that happen with items sold ourselves, fetching really ridiculous prices so much so that thought the buyer was a fraud or been a hacked account!

I get so torn between going for used or new :wall: I know if go for used then got the hassle of collecting, hoping it will fit in car, fuel costs, time out to go fetch it etc etc... but want a bargain too.:lol: Hopeless arnt I.

Hi

I went through exactly the same earlier this year when I was looking (and plotting how to convince my husband to let me keep chickens  ). I watched loads on ebay and in the eglus for sale section here over a couple of weeks, so that when something came up that was close enough I'd know what was a good price.

I found that generally, prices on the forum were better than on ebay. Cubes with 2m runs went for between £450 and £514. Cubes with 3m runs went for between £533-£621 (I kept all the info in a book, hence why I still know....). It really helped as when I saw one with a 3m run for £450 I snapped it up straight away, even though it was 50 miles away.

The other thing I noticed on ebay was that a couple I had intended on bidding closer to the end time suddenly disappeared. I'm assuming they'd had private offers. Just before the one I bought came up, I contacted the seller of another one prior to the end time to see if they would take a offer and they said they would take £490 (3m run). I noticed that it ran to the end of the auction and sold for £550, so if you do see one, it can't harm to contact the seller and make an offer......

Good luck!
