Eggxactly
I am devastated, I have just been out to my eglu cube to fine one duck dead and one totally missing (they are small ducks). There is a tiny scrabbled tunnel under the run edge. Having got advice it appears it may be a stoat. The 'tunnel' isn't even two inches deep. There was blood and feathers here though. Apparently a stoat with a nearly grown brood is a complete nightmare. I have been advised to get a trap, but this is to warn other people, though what you can do I am not sure. Roobaloo
Oh no!! Sorry to hear this! Stoats and Weasels can be a nuissance as their skulls are the biggest part of their body...so if they can get their head in a gap, they can get the whole way in. So make sure all small holes are blocked and monitored!!
Eggxactly
Hi Any idea how large a gap they can squash through? , could it have got through the run wires and just scratched to get the duck out? I am busy burying the 'lip' under large gravel in the hope that may deter the digging. The trap is a bit dodgey a we have a mini dachshund (no it wasn't her!!)
