ChrisEllis
Hi, we were thinking of letting our ducks run loose around our 2 acre garden instead of keeping them in a pen. we have let them loose during the day and they have never been attacked and they never venture far from their water and food etc and their pen. Would this be ok or is there a risk they can get attacked by foxes?? Or are they big enough to not be harmed??

tom123
Correct me if I am wrong but aren't they kept in a large area fenced in by 3ft mesh fencing? If so then this isn't fox proof anyway so the fox could take them now therefore free-ranging them wouldn't make much difference to what they do now! justinpl
Hi I just wanted to let you know I lost my Duck to the fox this weekend, the duck was in its small run which had chicken wire around and netting over the top I would not of minded but the hens where out in the garden and the fox did not bother them. The other allfull thing was it was daytime the fox came calling. Hope this helps Regards Tricia
donald
A lot of people think the fox is out at dusk and night etc but indeed its easy to get caught out the fox can visit anytime, we have them in our garden at 12 mid day before! Bold as brass. Also our local chicken farm with free ranging had 6 foot wire fencing and I saw the fox scale it and get in amongst the chickens. Fortunately the farmer came rushing out after I yelled and his dog chased it away.(Middle of the day ) Or perhaps it was my hysterical yelling that made it run off donald
