Janty
Remember the pekins that belonged to a friend of a friend? We collected them yesterday and they have settled in well. We couldn't collect their house until last night and when we placed it in the garden, they toddled up the ramp one by one all in a line. Even hubby thought it was cute. Daphne
What a lovely mix of colours - they look gorgeous
Redwing
They are lovely Does the black one just have a flyaway tail or is it a boy?
Guest
Aw how lovely. I am guessing the black is a boy because of the impressive head gear but then I could be wrong
Janty
The owner told me that she had been told that the black one was a boy but I'm sure it's a girl. It's never crowed - my friend is her next door neighbour and can verify that one (and they live in a terrace), the neck feathers are girly and the tail is bustly rather than sweeping ( although she is heavily in moult at the moment). Janty
I don't think I could cope with another sex change hen.

Janty
This is the cockerel that we rescued last year to compare...
Guest
Well your right it looks like a hen then. It's tail is standing way to high and is rounded in one of the pics
Janty
The only manly thing about her is the headgear. The rest of her is girly. I don't care if it's another 'Hermes' as long as he/she doesn't crow which it hasn't so far.
karena
I'm so taken by Pekins at the moment. I like their flares and 'wide-boy' stance. They look like little 70s cockneys in braces to me, if that makes any sense!
Lewis
They all look great! Staying for now then?
