donald
Yesterday one of my gingernuts was not her usual self(I checked her underside which was clean) Flubenvet them all too (just in case) Today we had a feel of her crop and it was larger than the others (to compare) We read to put 2-3mls olive oil via syringe which we did today twice at spaced intervals down her gullet. This evening we massaged her crop and boy she vomited up the oil then some very brown smelly liquid. She seemed a bit shocked despite us giving her breathers between massages. I think she has got a block ?? I have put her back in the run as she isnt moving around but just standing still. She is eating some food now and has had a drink of water too. Her crop most definitely reduced. Is this right thing to do?? Any other advice much appreciated? Any idea of is it sour crop as I have just read on a previous question thanks Donald
Plum
You can't really tell if it's blocked until the morning and then check if it is empty. It could be she had just eaten a lot or the odd frog? Not had experience of sourcrop but if it is blocked you are doing the right thing by giving oil and massage gently
donald
Thanks Plum It was definitely reduced and I am sure she was more comfortable and she has managed to put herself to bed. Yes we have lots of frogs in our garden at the moment. They have been free ranging for half days. But thank you for your help. Just needed to know if I had missed doing anything else, thank you regards Donald
