scarlettohara
Have just noticed this when went to shut their door, my millefleur frizzel has one eye closed. She will go to the vet in the morning but I have bathed with cooled boiled water for now. Anything else I can do - she has opened it now but it looks sore UPDATE: Took her back to the vet this am as eye again looks swollen, sore and now a bit cloudy. She had a different antibiotic injection and will have one again tomorrow as he said it could possibly be mycoplasma However he did say she was quite lively - she was cheeping and craning her neck to look around the surgery Can anyone tell me what else I should look out for - especially in the other babies. Thanks, Sara Edited September 12, 2010 by Guest
scarlettohara
Back from the vet - she had a small cut on her lower eyelid (probably from playing) and is it swollen and sore. She had an anti inflammatory and antibiotic injection (she weighed virtually nothing to the vet's amusement) and a general health check but all else fine. I have eye drops for 5 days to be on the safe side as she refused to open her eye long enough to put the green dye in I'm now £68 poorer as took one of the cats too and she has a bladder infection
Plum
Heck at least they'll pick up now. Getting it early before it blew up is good.
scarlettohara
Yes she is opening it more and I am so looking forward to putting the drops in later and wrestling with the cat to administer her tablet

mostin
I'm so sorry I didn't see this earlier Scarlett. If ever my girls have an eye problem I make some weak black tea...............let it cool ................then bathe the eye with the tea using cotton wool pads. The tea is a natural antiseptic and it often does wonders as sometimes they get runny eyes if they've had a bit of straw stuck in their eye or something daft. Hope your girl is on the mend soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
