Unsecure chicken perches

Here is a little video of my girls enjoying a sweetcorn on a shepherd crook i bought at the garden centre.

They bounced around for ages and the sweetcorn lasted almost for an hour and half.

The only thing is they get covered in the juice and get a bit messy - what's the best way to give them a wash ?

It's brilliant how sweetcorn swingball has become a national craze! Our four spent the evening jumping for theirs, until they were nicely tired out for bed.

 

The sweetcorn juice will brush off if you give your chicken a bit of a stroke, but they are so happy to cover themselves in it, I always feel like I'm fighting a losing battle so I leave them to it!

They do seem to like sweetcorn splatters decorating their feathers. I did try and wash the feathers with a little sponge when the sun was out but it still seems to be there so I've left them with their new decorations.
