I'm now hen-less :(

Recommended Posts

I recently made the decision to re-home my hens, as for many different reasons I couldn't keep them anymore and was just so desperate to find them a great new home.

I had been searching for a while to find them a home close by and for them to all go as a group and had no such luck and then I advertised my chick feeders on freecycle and the woman who asked for them also saw that I wanted to re-home the hens! She lives about 2 miles away from me and lives on a farm type place and loves her hens!

So she came on Friday evening to get the feeders & came to see the hens. She instantly fell in love with them and I could tell she would just give them the great home I longed for them! She'd also just been to The Wernlas and picked up 8 chicks and some hatching eggs!

So off they went and Gertie, Brownie, Rosemary, Chesnut and Honey are now all living with this lovely lady and her 70 - odd other hens! So i'm soo happy! It's really odd without them in the garden but I know they will get the full attention they need with her.

She popped back today as she was also interested in buying my electric hen and she told me she had a lovely blue egg from Rosemary yesterday, just made me smile! She's always been such a great layer! :D She also said I could go and visit them anytime I want to which is great!
