NicChick
Hi My Light Sussex has just started laying eggs and the first 2 have been softies that have been broken in the Eglu. As I am new to this I wanted some help. Are soft shelled eggs normal for a new layer? Normally when do the shells become harder? Is there something else I should be doing? I have grit in the run for them and they are currently eating growers crumb. They normally free range during the day. Thanks Nic
Chucky Mama
If you do a forum search you will see lots of chat on Soft eggs. There are 2 further down the 'Eggs' page where you have posted this topic
Purplemaniacs
First eggs can be sofies, just while egg laying gets established. Chrissie
