Chicken boarders

Hi all

 

I just thought I would post these. They are 17-20 week old Cuckoo Marans. We got them yesterday and today was there first day in the garden. I rushed home in my lunch hour to take these when the sun was out.

Can't wait for the first mahogany egg! Apologies for my lack of expertise with the camera

lovely! Do they have names? How will you tell them apart?

Lovely. I've got a cuckoo marans that must be about 13 weeks now.

 

quickcluck - I know what you mean. I have 2 CLBs and the older they get the less I'm sure which is Rosie and which is Della.

 

That's why my 3 beautiful ducks have a collective name.

Thanks - I love them already. I think I'll wait and see what their characteristics and personalities are before deciding on names. Just now one is a few weeks older so is clearly bigger and another is quite a bit darker than the others, but I know they will all probably get darker as they get older. They might end up with a collective name like the others, we have, "the girls" (original, brown layers), granny hen (the ancient one), "the Silkie girls" (bought about 4 weeks ago from the same breeder!). So they might be "the Maran girls" or "the Cuckoos" (sounds like a girl band! ).

The 'girls' look great, it's good seeing them out in the garden. Hope you get the dark eggs
