patsylabrador
Must have been a strange day for the soldiers leaving there today. Lots of memories, happy and sad, and thoughts of their fallen comrades. sangin
craftyhunnypie
They should not have been there. They are & were someone's son or daughter. My heart goes out to all of them & their families. Emma.x
chickencam
I was very moved by the soldiers that were interviewed for the news last night. They seemed so deflated that the time and loss of friends had not given them the successful outcome that they were hoping for.
Old Speckled Hen
They seemed so deflated that the time and loss of friends had not given them the successful outcome that they were hoping for. But not surprised I suspect. The Russians were there for 10 years for equal effect, but at least they had the excuse of supporting the Marxist-Leninist government of the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan at their own request against the Mujahideen. We are losing the lives of our soldiers at the request of the USA.
