One of my chicks looks unwell hes hunched and sleepy. Fed up of chook illness just lately!! he's not at all spritely like his siblings its not cocci is it? I do have the meds for that, shall I treat now just in case it is that?

Is their any bloody droppings if not he may have whats going round your birds did you find out what is up with them leanne.

I'd separate him from the others to be on the safe side, and observe his droppings. If you think he has coccidiosis, it is better to start treatment sooner rather than later. You don't say how old the chick is?

Chick is 3 weeks old... ive started treatment, so fingers crossed...

It's always best to finish a course of any med even if the symptoms have gone

It does sound like cocci, blood in droppings doesnt have to be present, the hunched appearance in a chick that age is classic, dropped wings are another sign

 

The treatment does start to work very quickly but treat for a full seven days and treat all in the batch
