Raina Posted October 4, 2010 Share Posted October 4, 2010 Hi all, On Friday when i was giving Orakiah her weekly check she pooped on me.I thought nothing of it till i put her back on the floor. Her vent was hanging out with some poo still attached.She was walking funny for about 5 minutes until most of it went back in.I didn't want to touch it incase i made it worse.An hour later she was fine,her vent looked normal and she was happily scratching about.Also when it was hanging out she had spread all of her feathers (Like when they poo or lay an egg) Did she prolapse? She's fine now and we've had eggs since this happened.I'm scared of holding her now too incase it was me that caused it by holding her(I had her bum facing towards the floor because i was checking her chest when it happened) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Egluntyne Posted October 4, 2010 Share Posted October 4, 2010 Sounds like a mini prolapse which righted itself. All you can do is keep an eye on things at this stage. Raina Posted October 5, 2010 Author Share Posted October 5, 2010 Thankyou I was outside with her most of today (She helped me clean out her eglu by having a dust bath in the sawdust bin ) I've had 1 egg a day since Friday and she's come out the nest box fine,and her vent looks normal but will still keep an eye on her.
