iggyigster
Hi, I've put together a pernament run/enclosure for my two hens which is bare earth covered with hardwood chippings. When cleaning my plan is to use one of those spray pumps with disinfectat in it and then rake over. Does this sound right and any recommendations for a disolvable disinfectant? ClaireG
I'd use a powderd disinfectant such as Stalosan F. http://www.flytesofancy.co.uk/chickenhouses/Stalosan_F_Disinfectant.html
The Dogmother
Yup, while you could use a spray disinfectant like Virkon or Viratec, you'd be better off using a powder as chickens don't like damp litter. I used to use Stalosan but now use BioDri, which I find to be better.
txswanie
Can anyone in The States tell me where I can get a dry disinfectant or even just the name of one. I cant find this anywhere. Thanks Colette.
The Dogmother
I don't know I'm afraid, but perhaps if you contacted the makers of Stalosan and BioDri, they might be able to help you.
