Happy chickens!
My family are committed carnivores, but I would like to introduce more vegetarian options into our diet. There is no way my OH will eat a meal without feeling deprived but as he works away during the week I thought I might try and convince my two teenage boys that they don't need meat every day. (I eat meat too, but just want less of it!) They eat well - and plenty of it, so need ideas for good hearty food that will fill them up, so what are your favourite recipes for main meals? They'll eat most things except for what they call 'smelly cheese' (you know, brie, camembert etc) and have tried various pasta/cheese sauce type things, but as searching the internet for recipes has been a bit hit and miss, so thought would ask you lot for the tried and tested best stuff! Thank you.
Cinnamon
I have a veggie daughter,& we eat veggie as a family several times a week. There was a great thread a while back which included my Spaghetti Giardino recipe...try doing a search. Lots of other recipes on there too! Lavenders_Blue
If your family like indian food, that is often very veggie-friendly. Lots of recipes using beans, chickpeas, paneer cheese etc. Hugh F-W did a vegetarian programme on River Cottage Everyday last week and there were some fab recipes on there, in fact I downloaded most of them from the Channel 4 website! His egg, spinach and lentil curry looks awesome - I am going to have a do at that this week.
