Gelbel
The girls were FRing yesterday morning in their section of the garden. I was keeping an eye on them and pootling in the kitchen as I was doing all the preparations for the Christmas cake (which takes longer than actually making the thing ). I saw the local tabby cat doing the head down, crouched down, tail out, stalking of my girls - and it was in the girls' FR area; so the cheeky thing had come into the garden over their house and runs. So I was out like a flash. By the time I was out it was a mad house. All my girls were squawking like mad and running at the cat trying to scare it off, but the cat decided it wanted to 'play' and was jumping from girl to girl............. Then the following happened about 5 seconds. Cissie and Madge both cleared the fencing. Ada looked at the fence and did not fancy it. Now Ada is scared of anything and everything - but this brave girl did the only thing she could possibly do. She did her best Hong Kong Chooky impression and jumped feet and claws first onto the cat's back. With Ada still on its back, the cat jumped about 3' in the air, turning round at the same time and started to run full pelt towards the girls' house and run. Ada let go and the cat was over the house and fence to the garden in two bounds making a high pitched screeching sound. The girls boked for England for a minute or so, then spent the next few hours in such a tight group; taking it in turns to dig while one kept an eye out. All the girls are absolutely fine but I found a bit of blood on the top of their house this morning when I was doing my weekly clean - that'll teach that tabby to pick on my girls. It won't be back - and I am hoping my front lawn now stays tabby poo free. And Ada is strutting round like she owns the place today. She got extra 'time-to-get-back-in-the-run' mealworms today.
