Robbo1962
Just wanted to share my last few weeks with you. I am off my feet for 3 long months, with much planning I have managed 7 weeks ..so far. The thing that has kept me sane are of course my lovely delightful girls (7).They have free range of the now trashed garden (dont care!) and come visiting me,they all line up along the garden room window waiting for raisens to be lobbed at them, Batz is too tame by half and comes in and steals the cats grub (cat is scarred of her) and has a good look around and will try to get in the kitchen if she can, she knows that I cant get to her quick enough as I am on crutches! Last week, managed to hop into the garden to see them (totally banned by doc) and feed them and check everything was in order as the old man is in charge.... all was well except the veg garden...again trashed! (dont care!) They are a delight on long long boring days, they make me smile and I miss them so much! but counting down now, should be able to get stuck in, mucking out and egg collecting in 5 weeks......... Chortle Chook
I like the thought of the all lining up for lobbed raisins I certainly find that chickens are great blues busters, they never cease to bring a smile to my face.

jomeena
Glad they are keeping you amused. I hurt my foot last year but still slid down the stairs on my butt so i could go see the girls. Well not long to go and you will be back on your feet again and wishing for a rest. Good Luck
beach chick
I broke my leg in 3 places in Jan - putting the chooks to bed in the dark!! slipped with my foot down the rut, and actually heard the break. I broke the tibia, cracked an ankle bone and chipped another bit of ankle bone - ended up having a steel plate and 6 screws in it. however it didnt put me off them - despite various colleagues suggesting I eat them in revenge ... and as soon as I was able enough on the crutches I hopped out to have a look at them. however I am now VERY cautious where I step...
