Crooked Chicken
I have just taken on some young 14wk old birds. I use layers pellets and mash for my other two older chickens, and wondered whether the mash would be suitable for the new young ones or should I buy something else?? Egluntyne
Strictly speaking they should be on growers pellets or mash for another couple of weeks till 16 weeks or so. I can buy 5kg sacks of the pellets from my local feed merchant, so maybe you could source some too. That would be more than enough to tide them over. Redwing
get hold of some growers pellets as Egluntyne advises If you cant get a 5kg bag get a sack It wont do the older birds any harm to eat growers pellets It will do the young ones harm to eat layers pellets, I have a chicken whose growth was stunted because of this
Plum
I kept mine on growers until this week at 21 odd weeks when they have started to lay. The older girls probably benefit from the extra nutrients but you may find their eggs a bit smaller.
