bluekarin
I have just decanted the cherry brandy I made this year with the cherries from my tree. Now I have a load of cherries, who are slightly faded (but a brandy which is now a fab rose colour) and was wondering what to do with them. I am thinking about drying them and then threading onto, er, well, a thread, like what you can do with popcorn, as a Christmassy decortaion. Any tips before I go ahead and do this? Cheers me dears
Lesley
Chop them and add them to chocolate truffles ( choc truffle recipe is in All Things Nice) Edit - sorry, just seen that you want to dry them.........leave them on a cake rack in the airing cupboard? bluekarin
Thats a good idea, but I don't think they'd be very appetising. I bought some sweetened sour cherries today which I am sure I could try in a few truffles, for taste testing purposes I've just google the drying method (should have done that first really, but hey ho) and it says it can take 14 hours in a low oven, with the door open! I'm sure mine would take twice as long as they are quite swollen with brandy.
Lesley
I use cherries soaked in brandy, but they are glace cherries so quite different I suppose.
