Mrs Webmuppet
I am thinking about buying a Wii for Christmas but being a total techno numpty I need some help..... I have been looking at the Wii shop on Amazon and I am now totally befuddled.........as far as I can work out, the console bundle comes with one controller thingy and some gizmo called a nunchuck. If we want to have two of us playing at a time I would need to order another controller thingy and a nunchuck. I'm told that Guitar Hero is a good game to get.................but which one? There seemed to be so many to choose from ( by the way LMW likes rock music - Muse, Pink Floyd and so on) A Wii fit looks like a good idea too............. I'm totally confused.......... help! CatieB
Yes you are right. The console comes with a one controller and one nunchuck (sorry if spelt wrong). If you want two people to play you'll need more controls. However look to see which games you'll want first and see what controls they use. For example we only have one nunchuck but three controllers as the games we play tend to use them. Have a look around at games before you buy your console as you will probably be best buying a packaged deal. They work out cheaper. We got our Wii, plus Super Mario Kart game, driving wheel and an extra controller for a really good deal in John Lewis - don't forget they price match and I find they have excellent customer service too.(no I don't work there) Can you go and play one at someones house or borrow one. We borrowed a friends for the week to help with our decision about games and controls. We love Mario Kart, Wii play (which I think always comes with it for simple little games to get you going and learning to use the controls). We have just got Wii Party which seems fantastic fun for a family but is too new for me to say much about. BTW there is now a limited edition red Wii if you get it Hope that helps
sari
We have one...and a Wii fit, I love it, as I hate gyms..and can have a 20 min workout in the privacy of my sitting room. My daughters and I also love the Lego game, Harry Potter, Star wars etc..really easy for your " casual gamer" i.e not a 17 year old boy with no social skills!! We love the easy party games too...it's great...although we still have our old PS2 for the SIngStar ( karaoke) games......
C&T
They are really good fun. As already mentioned, worth getting the extra controller/'s, but Nunchucks aren't needed for all the games - depends what you want! Wii Fit is good - although I admit I haven't used it for a while... Don't bust the bank by buying loads of games from the start. The one that comes with the wii, where you can go bowling, boxing etc, is really good fun and acan keep the family amused for hours in it's own right! And if you get a package with 2 or 3 extra games, then you will be sorted for ages, and you can all add games as you want. Can't help with the Guitar games - but can recomend "Raving Rabbids" or something as a great game - loads of silly games, and again, great for all the family! Have fun choosing! chickric
Has anyone looked into the new X Box 360 with the motion sensor thing which is coming out soon?it doesn't need a controller or anything...... Not overly impressed with it to be honest, needs a large space to make proper use of it, at lest 6" away from it and another 5 of so feet around you and from reviews I have read it does suffer from quite a bit of lag, also it's £125 Nice idea but the technology isn't there yet, not as it is being sold anyway. Thats just my opinion anyway and I might be slightly biased having had Nintendo for years
Cinnamon
Oh,we are BIG Nintendo fans here - we still play a lot of the old classics on our very old N64 console - Goldeneye, Legand of Zelda, banjo Kazooee & so forth. In fact I may get the Goldeneye Wii version for Hubby for Christmas IMHO,Nintendo are the very best consoles
