Happy Mummy
I have just put my 5 girls into there new cube and they seem to love it (tonight will be night 4)!!! However after moving out of their old home with ground feeders and water containers they are having trouble working out how to use the glug (they have worked out the grub ok). They keep trying to take water from the top of the glug?? Should I leave it low to let them drink this way or persevere to let them try to learn how to use it properly? Any suggestions greatly appreciated! Can anyone tell me if there is a recommended height for the glug to be at?
beach chick
I have to admit I gave up on my glug... but it needs to be high enough so the nipples dont touch the ground, else they will just drip and you will end up with no water. if you persevere, they will get there - mine now drink out of bunny bottles (provided for the bunnies, not for them!!). I think someone on here suggested that you flick the nipple bits (oo err missus) and then they will see the drops of water and get the hang of things. Chicken shack
I lowered mine and they drink from the top. Make sure the nipples don't touch the floor or water will leak out. When I get a free moment I am going to seal the holes up so it does not leak.
Happy Mummy
Okay, thanks for the advice everyone . Think it may be easier to let them carry on drinking from the top!
chicken bark
Someone in the past suggested putting tomatoes on the nipples to get them used to pecking there.
