Becka
Hello, Can someone help me please? I bought the 25m fencing from Omlet about two years ago and thought at the time that it was possible to electrify it. There isn't anything that indicates this is possible on the site but I seem to remember thinking I would be able to when I bough it. Does anyone know if I can do this and how? Any help much appreciated. Becka
The Dogmother
Yes, you can electrify it because it has a metal thread woven into it. Lesley is the best person to ask about getting transformers though.
Lesley
You just need to buy an enrgiser and a leisure battery (or a solar powered energiser) You clip it to the fence, which has a metal thread running all through the fibres.
The Dogmother
I think the energiser needs to be off the floor. And don't do what Carl did when he stepped over it... *oWWWW!* I think I heard him in Banbury.

Lesley
- and he still sings in a very high voice! Jazz was introduced last year to the electric wire around the chickens using the solar energiser which has a lower output than the Electric Shepherd - she only touched it once and never goes anywhere near the wire now. Yesterday, she put her head through the fence of the new piggies paddock and put her nose on the wire - Carl eventually caught up with her at the top of the field She was attached to one of those wire leads, clipped onto a fence post - she just burst it apart
