Feeling a bit nervous... Slimming World

Recommended Posts

...just sat waiting to go to my first (in several years) Slimming World group. I've realised I must do something about my gradually increasing waistline, and rapidly decreasing will power. I'm off to the meeting in five minutes, but don't relish the thought of being confronted by my weight and the small mountain that I will have to loose. My hands are actually shaking at the thought!!!

Oh well, its time to go, kind thoughts please!!

I'm sure it will have been fine:) I'm doing Extra Easy on SW and it is what it says once you get your head around the fact that it's not a "diet" just a healthy eating plan. Well, that's what I tell myself anyway as otherwise I obsess about food.

I've lost just over a stone (had blips these past few weeks due to my eating) but am down to a size 10 in jeans and size 14 in tops now. However, I look like I've lost way more than a stone :?

You've had a difficult and unsettled time though Anne - I'm sure it will all settle down soon, be kind to yourself.

Ahh, thanks Lesley :) I will be and the two parkin cakes and huge bag of treacle toffee I've eaten have helped :lol:

Hello All,

Sorry for the delay, the website seemed to be 'broke' yesterday, so I couldn't post a reply!

It was ok, although a little daunting. I have been before, but this group seemed a bit different. The Consultant went round the whole group and discussed their weight loss/gain that week, which is the bit I was dreading, and will dread next week!!

I've realised that I've got a horribly long way to go, but am hoping to be able to do it this time, AND keep it off. The problem is I've nowill power, and love food, so its going to be HARD.

Thank you for your lovely comments though, I will let you know how I got on next Wednesday, perhaps if I have the humiliation of telling you all that I didn't loose any weight will spur me on.

Rachel xx

this is why this sort of thing doesn't work for me..I've done WW and SW a few times, have been down to a 12..and always end upp as an 16/18 again.....I'm using Paul McKenna again, and it's helping a bit..good luck x x x x hopefully you don't do what my sis does....gets weighed on a Wednesday, and then they all go to Starbucks a Pizza Express on the way home

Rachel, are you doing EE as there is loads and loads and loads of free food you can eat to keep you satisfied. I didn't like my group at first but have stuck with it and am glad I have. The consultant didn't say how much people had gained did she as they're not supposed to do that.

Good luck :D

I am doing the EE plan. Today I've eaten sooooo much fruit and I'm still hungry :( I know it will take a few days to get used to eating less of the wrong things and lots of the right things.

I didn't think that they were allowed to talk about the amount of weight an individual had gained but she did. She said '.... you've gained 2 lbs this week, why and how will you change that next week' etc etc which I didn't think much of! Perhaps it is motivational, but I just see it as humiliation!

Oh well, another day tomorrow!! Guess what the first thing I will think about will be when I wake up!! :wall:

If she carries on giving out peoples gains I'd complain to SW about her. That's definately not right and she shouldn't be doing it.

I found eating lean ham and fat free cottage cheese with tomatoes and cucumber on ryvita crispbreads (syn these 1 syn each) help stave off my hunger pangs.

Have you looked at minimins.com. They've a fab SW section.

I found that at SW they would go around the room and weight gains or losses were revealed....but not a persons weight. I didn't like that either.

I'm happier with WW where they only mention any weight gains in general and the chat is mostly about people who've reached milestones, 7lbs, 10%, 20% etc.

It might be worth mentioning it if you're uneasy with it?
