Plum
er on a tree? If neighbours not cutting one down try your local recycling centre (tip). Lots of people take their garden waste and you just have to be bold and ask someone if you can recycle one rather than them putting it in the skip. Otherwise get a bit of treated timber from Wickes and cut to size.

docsquid
If you're anywhere near us, you could come and get one from us - we have hundreds of trees and have recently removed part of a tree to make way for a new fence, so have some to spare. megalin
If you have an active freecycle network like us then that's always good for such requests You can get all sorts of things for chooks on it! Old sand pits for dust baths, I got paving for ours. It's fab I'm a big fan. Megalin
Steve the Gas
Go for a stroll in an available wood, nearby or are we talking miles.
Trougher
With all the wind we have had lately, loads must have blown down, if there are any commons with trees, or wooded areas? I love nothing more than an autumn walk through woods, looking for chestnuts or anything that might make a festive decoration. Are there any woods anywhere you can go for a walk through? We've got a good sturdy branch in the outside run that our chickens love perching on. What about any wood that people have thrown away in skips - I found some lovely wood the other day which I helped myself to for future use for the chickens!
