Chucky Mama
Poor old Trudy my little Amber Star, my best layer (and favourite girl )came out of the cube absolutely hopping lame this morning. She actually flew out as she couldn't get down the ladder. There is no sign of injury and so I can only assume that she has caught and wrenched it somehow. Will try her with some Metacam, rest and keep my fingers crossed, she is such a sweetie.
Ain't Nobody Here
Poor Trudy . One of mine was very lame a while back but it just seemed to heal itself within a few days.
Plum
I've had no experience but hope she picks up.
Chucky Mama
Thought I'd post a quick update in case it helps anyone in a similar situation. Trudy is now on day 6 of Metacam (given in a small amount of porridge), Lifeguard as it contains glucosamine) I didn't confine her as she is such a sensible little chook that she self imposed rest (flying instead of walking often ). This morning she is thankfully showing signs of improvement. I was getting quite disheartened as she has been so lame and she had improved so little. However this morning she is using the leg and is much happier in herself. Initially she was 10/10 lame and now I would say that she is 3/10 lame. When examined there were no obvious injuries at all. I wonder, as she is a frantic scratcher and forager if she hurt it trying to scratch in the frozen ground. Fingers crossed that she continues to improve
The Dogmother
Glad to hear she's on the mend CM - like us, they seem more prone to sprains in the cold weather.
