greyhoundgirl
Margot has been curled up like a ball all day. She's sitting on the door step like a fluffy, shivering ginger ball. She has eatten a little and had a drink of warm water; a wander around the garden but has removed herself from the others. She just looks miserable tbh. I'm going to try to catch her and check her crop. She has a slightly mucky bum and I think she's starting a moult. I've been adding poultry suplement to their water for weeks now. Any ideas you super Omleteers?
greyhoundgirl
No, crop is fine but spooned some olive oil into her anyway. Bless, she hates being picked up but was quiet ok once we'd caught her! Back looking sad sitting (not perching) on the flower pots. Once upon a time they had flowers in them; then they became expensive hen feed.
Space Chick
I think in this cold weather some are feeling more miserable, I have a few girls who are hunching themselves up a bit but my health checks have shown them to be healthy. Maybe make a warm pellet porridge before bed time
Chortle Chook
Perhaps her legs and feet are cold, hence the sitting, rather than perching. How about putting a little vaseline on them? Just a thought. I'm no eggspert. Alternatively there is a foot cream available from Boots for not a lot of pennies called 'Boots' footcare maintenance balm'. I use it on my hands when I take my greyhounds out for a walk and can testify to the fact that it does keep the cold out well. I'm going to try it on my chooks.
