Pro - Does anyone else's nest boxes get soaked in rain?

Hello there

 

I was wondering if my silkies and sussex bantam would be able to cope in the cold, i plan to keep them in the run as he snow is far too deep.

 

Will they be warm enough just feathers alone?

Yes they will be fine. Silkies often lay in winter which is a sure sign they are well able to cope. Sussex are a tough old breed. Just make sure they do have some shelter from snow/rain/wind so they can be out of the worst of the weather if they want to - I find mine retreat to their house. But all healthy chooks are OK outside in a UK winter
