Hungry Magpies????

Recommended Posts

Even the chooks have now given up chasing the magpies out of their pen, and they all seem to now be settled as a mixed flock of chickens and magpies happily feeding together.... they are eating me out of house and home, I thought having a cockerell would mean he would protect his food and girls from everything!! :wall:

I half expect the magpies to be going to bed with the chooks by the end of the week!!!! perhaps i should expect to be hatching magpies in the spring!!!

Do they not know that the food is for chickens and not for the entire population of hampshire magpies!!!! AAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!

sorry just needed a little rant!!!!!! Ta x

We have, possibly, the entire population of cambridgeshire's moorhens coming to spend each day with our chickens! (27 at the last count!) Word has obviously got round that there is an all-you can-eat buffet available all day and, boy, are they making the most of it.

In all seriousness, though, it worries me about disease they might bring. They poo bright green poos everywhere. I spend far too much of my time trying to poo pick and chase them off.
