megalin
Just wondering if there are any aromatherapists out there?! I know a lot of essential oils aren't safe to use around animals but I was wondering if there is anything that might make the run and coop a bit more sweet smelling. They don't smell bad and I keep them nice and clean but there's still an unmistakable chickeny smell around the garden and I have close neighbours. I know you can use eucalyptus soaked tissue hung from the top of the coop if they are sniffly but don't suppose this is advisable to do very often. Maybe something like this could be hung high up along the fence in the run though, at human level but not where the chicks can reach or smell it...... Any Ideas or is that just a bit crazy?! Egluntyne
Lavender, citronella, and eucalyptus are the ones I use. On a rag or a few drops on a terracotta plant pot. In the summer, the warm sun ( you may have heard of this ) releases the aroma.
megalin
Oh great thank you, that's a fab Idea. Although the sun feels far far away at the moment!!
The Dogmother
I use the same, they are great at repelling flies in the summer
