Hi All

 

I have 2 cube run extensions to construct at the weekend. I have not even looked in the box at the instructions yet but I know loads of you will have experience of putting these together... So any tips? Is it a 2 person job?

Sorry I have no advice... I'm Eglu/Cube-less (for now).

But I've been wondering, can you add as many extensions as you like to the cube? As there only appears to be one type of extension for the cube.

I think in theory you can add quite a few as long as you have the supporting arches. I think it will have to stay in one place though as it will be 5 meters long!! I'm not sure if other people have any luck moving theirs when they are longer than 3 meters.

 

Not too much longer to wait until yours arrives. I had to wait for 6 weeks when I ordered mine until I was around for a weekday delivery... I was almost bursting with excitement by then!

No it's easy I'm a one-person and had no trouble A good tip I was given was to use a 2p coin to open the run clips

Wow...7 meters. How many hens in there? Did Falkor move it? I guess it would be possible if you have a party of people!! I can just visualise inviting friends & neighbours to help with that!

 

I will give the 2p a go, cold hands & fiddly tasks don't go too well together so that should help.

Yes I will defo take a photo. There is a pic on the forum somewhere of a really long cube run - it was huge. I found an amazing you tube video of a fox trying to get into someones cube with a long run but I think that's a 4 metre run. V cool video though. Fox does not get in!

That must be one frustrated fox. A bit like craving chocolate but not able to get the Quality Street out of the wrapper.

Crumbs! That's spectacular. Thanks for posting that. Don't think I would have found it. Was it 7 meters?

 

CM-currently I have 4 hybrids in a cube with 3 metre but plan to add my 3 ex batts at some point with the 2 extra metres. I cannot let them FR as I have seen foxes in the garden & my neighbours feed the foxes so cannot take the risk. If 5 meters is too small I will get another extension.

We have foxes here too. We've had an incredibly cheeky fox take chickens, don't know what free-ranging I'll be able to do either.
