Hi

 

I have two aracuanas. I am not sure wether it is a rooster or hen and I was looking help. The colour of it is all grey. Would it be easier if I posted a photo?

Yes, post a photo. I had two and seriously thought one was a cockerel - till she laid a lovely blue egg!

Thanks a million. I bought two aracuanas at a big poultry sale and I thought they were pullets at the time. I'm nearly sure one is a pullet but they have grown up alot since I bought them. I would love to show one but the the one I know is a pullet has got pigment in her feathers causing them to go browny among grey feathers. I will post this photo shortly.

My Paxo is a golden duckwing Araucana and she was returned to the hatcher as a boy before I bought her but she's a girl as she proves nearly every day with a She doesn't have a crest and has a pea comb and beard thing under her beak and no wattles.

 

It's my Orpington I have worries about as I think her feathers are all wrong and she has quite chunky legs but a smallish comb and wattles combo and has never crowed. Guess I'll only know when an egg appears.

Any ideas of when I should sells him and for how much? I am unable to keep a rooster because i live in a housing estate.

There is the marketplace on Omlet you could try. In fairness, you'd be best off offering him as free to a good home. Otherwise, you could try practical poultry

Emm if I put more pictures on could I have help. I was wondering what would be good show chickens out of my pure breed hens.

You will never believe it. Both the aracaunas turned out to be roosters i heard them crowing yesterday morning so had to get rid immediatley.
