oneyolktoanother
well you might remember i told you that pip seemed back to full and started laying again, but now she has impacted crop again and the vet i took her to before and gone to live in australia, i have spoken with amicus vets in soihull and he thinks that cutting her open would probaly be the best way forward as her crop was drained before and it's back again after a few months. So she has to go tuesday morning and he will have a look at her, i am worried i know he specalises in birds. But it's still worrying isnt it? do you think this is the best way forward and has anyones chickens had this done? thanks in advance
franklyrabbit
Or poor thing (both of you!). I'm not a chicken keeper so cannot advise I'm afraid. Did Pip have the op?
oneyolktoanother
yeah she did have the op, we picked her up and she was very bright took her home and she had a little feed and a drink , this morning she was as good as gold she had all her medication and i have put her into a seperate part of the run so she can see the others, i have to feed her small amounts of layers mash with water mixed in every hour and a half and she's eating fine thank god. I just hope that her crop goes back to the normal size. So fngers crossed the vet said give it a couple of days and i could put her back with the others as you can't see the stitches but i will wait and see how it goes
