Mystery of buried eggs....

Recommended Posts

I was cleaning out my eglu earlier today and when I pulled out the poop tray there were two eggs in it. Now, I only have one of my ladies laying at the moment and she does sometimes miss a day, but my quandry is this....

How did the eggs get there in the first place,

All the roosting bars were in place

Both eggs were a good size and could not have fallen through.............. hmmm

She has only ever laid her egg in the nest box before, could one of the others have kicked it out ? its a mystery

I've had a few softies laid and end up in the poo trays of the cube, but a month ago I cleaned out the poo trays and there was a large egg in amongst the poo, perfectly intact, hard shelled.

There was no big enough gap in the grey plastic roosting bars for it to get through. It was and is still a mystery!
