Pro - Does anyone else's nest boxes get soaked in rain?

yipee! Finally had my first egg: 36g but perfect. Trouble is it was smeared with blood! Not a lot but do you think I should be very worried? I'm not sure which of my girls laid it but I suspect it was Jill as she has the biggest comb. I haven't examined either of them closely as they are rather nervous but they looked and acted okay.

A bit of blood is fine, This is often the result of her straining herself,or where large eggs are involved. Or it could be just the pullet first coming into lay, which in your case, it would be the second bit.
