Chortle Chook
Does anyone own a cockerel with a full, nice crow? My Silkie, Dill, it has to be said, does not have a very nice crow. It is not loud so that is not much of a problem, but it never gets to a full cock-a-doodle-doo. The 'doodle-doo' always gets missed off so it sounds sort of strangled. Am I right in thinking that some cockerel breeds have better crows than others? If so, which ones? One day, (when little Dill passes on) I'd love one that does the real thing. Redwing
Yes they do vary tremendously My Wyandottes have a nice crow, low for their size, my Pekin cockerel screeches but does do a full crow I think it varies bird to bird too though
Daphne
My LF orpington has a very loud, very full, crow. I'm never sure if this is a good thing.
