rachelk
I'm hoping someone might be able to give me some ideas. My daughter has asked me to make her a quilt and has chosen 3 fabrics - 1 patterned and 2 plain contrasting. I'm really stuck for ideas as I'm new to this, and it has been suggested that I cut it into strips and join them together. Are there any websites that you would recommend for inspiration. I'm fine once someone has given me a picture to copy, but I don't have a clue where to start otherwise. Thanks!!
Vivihen
Designs using triangle or squares can look quite effective with three colours e.g. 'Wild Goose Chase', 'Rail Fence', '1000 Pyramids', 'Baby Blocks', 'Magic Squares' are a few that I can think of. Sorry I don't know a web site for designs.
Plum
You should have joined our mystery quilt last year Have a look at some of these http://quilting.about.com/od/quiltpatternsprojects/ig/Easy-Quilt-Patterns/ I like looking at Bramble Patch's quilts for inspiration https://thebramblepatch.co.uk/shop/sections.asp?PG=KITS&SG=Quilt%20Kits Don't look in the shop. You have been warned Kaufman fabrics have free patterns at the moment http://www.robertkaufman.com/quilting/quilts_patterns/free/ Quiltmaniacs is a good site as well http://quiltmaniacs.blogspot.com/ Much easier looking at them than making them
