sapphichicks
Some advice please. My 6 ex batts all stay out in the rain. Yesterday they were soaked through as they stayed out most of the day only seeking shelter a few times. It rained all day long. I have tried shutting them in their house but they just want to get out. I was worried they will catch a cold but today, its sunny, they are all in fine fettle. Is it ok for them to be out in it? Jools
Provided they have shelter if they want it, and they're fully feathered, I wouldn't worry too much. I was watching my bantams enjoying the horizontal sleet earlier!
sapphichicks
thanks Jools. Once again it is pouring down and they have been out in it all day. Only one of my chooks is lacking some feathers but only on her chest. They dont seem to mind getting soaked by the rain but if you ever squirt them (water pistol if they peck) they run away fast. coco
Mine get soaked when it pours down. As long as they have somewhere dry to go they will be fine.
Kylie1007
My stupid Rosie, the silkie, was out in it the other day and she was like a drowned rat She was lovely and fluffy the next day though.
