Before I subject her to what most be the most revolting smell ever thought up by man, smells like concentrated nicotine/cigarette stubs, can you wash Ukadex off, or am I subjecting my pure white silkie to looking the same colour as a pub ceiling until she next moults (which may be some time as she is only 5 months)?

 

Don't know whether to use it or not - the bullies are not drawing blood with their pecking, just chasing her into the eglu or a corner for the entire day.

 

This experience has definitely rid me of my Morehens disease

 

 

Thoughts anyone?

Ukadex does wear off after a week or so but it won't stop the bullying. could you maybe section part of the run of so she could live with a friend but the others can't get to her.

When you say it wears off, is that just the smell/effect, or the colour too? And off a white hen?!?

 

I have separated the WIR, and they have been there for nearly 4 weeks, but it only leaves them with a very small space, so I was wanting to try to get them integrated, I just don't want a permenantly brown silkie!

The smell wears off after about a week, the colour lasts much longer but I don't know how long. Lets just say that I can't remember when I sprayed Pearl and she's still mottled purple and brown on her wings.

it did work with ours, but it does stink when we sprayed our white hen it tainted her feathers quite bad six months later and she is a creamy brown colour

Just got some Johnson's anti-peck which seems to be clear - try that first I think.

just thought i would mention don't try nettex as that stains brown aswell
