NannyOgg
I've seen a few posts about Garvo and everybody seems to really rate it...so I was just wondering what makes it so good? I'm currently using The Organic Feed Co layers pellets and am wondering if Garvo would be better for them. Looking forward to reading your views. Space Chick
I think Garvo is the best feed I just think that they look in such good condition on it and the egg yolks are a fab orange
Sageandonion
We've had our chickens 6 weeks and they've had Garvo since we've had them. They love the pellets and the mixed corn and do look like they're thriving. We had our 1st egg yesterday and as Space Chick said the yolk is the most amazing colour orange. I wouldn't be able to compare Garvo to anything else but they're happy and so am I
Roobaloo
Is it available to buy online? I've never found it stocked locally.

Cinnamon
I have tried it,but found no discernible difference between using it & my normal Marriages pellets,I am afraid
Falkor
Blimey!! I have just seen Garvo Layers pellets for £13.99 a sack!!! I feed only Garvo and pay no where near that much!!! Although I have not done a scientific study I believe Garvo is the best feed for my chooks. There is a feed for every situation and I find it to be very cost effective. I get a regular supply of great eggs from my "layers", the exbatts love it from the minute they are taken from their cages, they re-feather and gain strength quickly on it. My game birds keep good condition on a mixture of it which they did not when fed a specialist feed. The quail love the quail mix too. If they did a boyfriend mix the OH would be on it!! When I have used another brand of feed (because I was given it by a manufacturer) I found that I got through the sacks much quicker. Partly due to spillage waste and partly because the hens refused to eat the dust that they claimed to be mash. If you choose to feed the Alphamix range as a complete feed then it can become costly however if you think about it you don't need to buy meal worms as they are already in it! Where abouts are you Roobaloo?
scarlettohara
I second what Falkor says about ex-batts, I had some poorlies from her in January and they were very bald. A month later on Garvo and they are almost fully feathered with lovely soft feathers. They have both turned out to be really pretty girls I pay approx £10 for 20 kg from a place in Royston

Roobaloo
Where abouts are you Roobaloo? Between Sandy and Bedford!! I pay approx £10 for 20 kg from a place in Royston Don't supposed that's The Barn Shop? I know they do some poultry supplies but I've never looked at what they stock...I used to go there regularly as I used to keep my horse stabled nearby, but as Frontier is a stones throw away I've just always gone there!
