Im using a galvanised small watering can at the moment as the plastic drinkers my two chickens just kept knocking them over and kicking stuff in. Probably wouldnt work out much cheaper than other drinkers but may work better, mine often leak or fall over. Thanks for the link, i will show my OH later and see if he wants to give it a go. i would be interested to know if you go ahead with it too.
