Sobby2711
I have just checked on my iPhone and saw that we collected our 3 ex battery girls on the 12th Feb from Haslington. I wondered whether I would regret more pets and certainly ones that I have never thought about having as pets. Even the children were totally against the idea. I researched all about hens and then bought the best....an omlet eglu a nice purple second hand one, still cost me £300 but worth it, as it's so easy to clean. Well I haven't regretted rehoming the girls, they are characters and make me laugh, they bully the whippets, chase the cats and race faster than the whippets to get to me... half flying and running... They have slaughtered my bluebells, pooed everywhere but I still don't regret getting them. It's so lovely to see them thriving and having a lovely healthy and happy retirement. My better half didn't want me to get them, but drove me an 80 round trip when Manchester City were playing Manchester United and missed it... We were relieved that they looked quite plump and didn't have too many feathers missing. I have spent so much more time outside with them, they have cost me a fortune, with extras, jet washers, making sausage and egg pies for all the neighbours, and if course their housing. And to top it off tomorrow I am going to rehome a white Sussex and a golden silkie for a local woman who is moving house. I am very excited. Who would think I would get excited about hens. Never in a million years. I shall post some photos. :>)
chocolateeclaire
Had mine for 3 years now and have the original 4 plus my 'chicken of fate'. One of my god daughters chickens lived to be 11 so I hope mine last that long as I adore them!! Claire
