Smart Feeder - Light sensor values

I have a Janome sewing machine and it sounds very clunky - does anyone have any suggestions as to what may need attention.

It sews perfectly but just sounds very clunky - the tone has changed in the last few weeks.

Do you use sewing machine oil? I add a drop every now and again, just remove the bobbin case and add a drop, then manually turn it. Also getting any fluff out helps. Changing the needle works for me too.

 

Mine really needs a service.

Oil -- er no. Have had a look for the small amount that came with the machine but can't find it, all the other bits and bobs are there but no oil; can I use anyoil like - olive or a veg oil?

 

I've changed the needle and will see if this makes a difference

I think that sewing machine oil is very specific as it is very 'smooth'.

The small bottle that came with my machine has lasted years!

I was going to say the same as Chrisitian. The other thing is you may have knocked the timing out so it would need an engineer to check it

I changed the needle and will get some special sewing machine oil

but it's make a really loud clunk - OH asked me to stop and I was two rooms away

 

May be I'll just have to get it serviced - its only about a year old but I use it most days so does get used

Took my lovely machine in for a service yesterday

No machine now for over a week (twiddles thumbs wondering what I'll do without it)

Ahh get hooking - I'll get the crochet hook out and be a happy hooker
