I've been looking at a 12'x9' pen with kickboards - it has a mesh roof - would you advise adding an extra roof or leaving as is ?

 

Thinking roof good - but what of ?

I would put a roof on to keep the run dry. Alternatively you could use tarpaulins - but not cheap or as good. I think they are best kept for the sides.

When we finally get round to roofing my WIR we will use plastic corrugated sheeting, available in Wickes or other DIY shops. Having said that by the time OH gets round to it the bad weather will be over and it will be summer. At least he built them a shelter.

I've got corrugated plastic sheeting on mine. Works a treat . My WIR would get revoltingly wet and stinky in no time without it!
