Pro - Does anyone else's nest boxes get soaked in rain?

My auntie's landlady had a eglu a while ago for her chickens and has thrown it on the skip!! I asked my auntie to have a look and see and if it was in good condition as if it was I'd have it!! The only thing is the door is broken, can you get replacements??

I'm sure I read somewhere that you can ring omlet up and they have spares. Threw an eglu in a skip?! I know people sometimes throw good things in a skip, but an eglu?!

Go get it quick . Even if you can't get a replacement door, you can still use it. I never closed the door on mine except in the harshest weather . I'm sure you could fashion some sort of door out of something if you felt you needed to!

Thanks. I know, we were really surprised that she had thrown it in there! A while ago my auntie mentioned she had it hanging about not being used and I said I'd have it off her, even give her money for it. She asked and apparently her son was going to have it but he obviously didn't and now it's ended up in the skip..... She's not really known to look after things well and just buys things for the sake of it so will definitely ask if it's still there!

Sadly, no. They had chucked an old bathroom suite on top of it so was damaged. Gutted!

I know, I honestly can't believe it!!! I'd never throw anything like that away, even if I didn't want it there is always places like freecycle! Can't understand her to be honest!
