New hens not going into Eglu Go Up

Hi,

 

We are rescuing some ex batts in a week or so from fresh start for hens. I had any email confirming my donation and everything.

 

They said in the email that i need to get some layers mash. I know this sounds daft but is this the same as chick crumb, i'm a tad confused.

no. chick crumbs are for chicks (0-6 weeks). layers mash are for layers (16 weeks onwards). they have different amounts of vitamins and minerals for growing and laying

No - its mashed up pellets. They usually have some for sale at the rescue in my experience. I switch mine to layers pellets over about a month or two.
