Has anyone done one of those make over/ photo shoot sessions where they make you look lovely and then charge a fortune for the photos at the end?

 

DD has been contacted by a company to have this done - she was recommended by a friend. They phoned her about 5 times, sometimes leaving messages and sometimes speaking to her. She told them she did not want the the session, but they phoned her again today and finally managed to persuade (or should I say coerce) her into accepting the deal at a reduced cost. She told me that she felt she could not say no. She is at uni on a very limited budget and has not yet learnt how to say no to clever sales people.

I have phoned the company to ask for her money back and they are "Looking into it" and hope to get back to me today.

I would too, they've applied a lot of pressure to get her to cave in. She's young and probably inexperienced in their techniques - shame on them!

My friends did this recently. They are very very expensive and pester you, especially once you have the photos taken, to buy more. I had a call from them, and I said I wasn't interested and they said they'd remove my number. Another friend had several calls before they left her alone. I'd check the t&c's before cancelling as they sometimes charge even if you don't turn up. They are very persistent and there have been lots of complaints. I can't remember the name of the company my friend used, but they have a shop in Bristol, I think or Southampton, and they had their hair and makeup done before the photo shoot. Good luck with cancelling.
