Yes you have read it right = I have got myself worked up with one of the girls who is now showing signs of broodiness. I have swotted up on Omlet and having ruled out egg bound shes too well and examined her vent etc ( worried sick in case neighbours saw me sticking a gloved finger up her bum ) and finding her for the umpteenth time today in the nest box - took action with the cold water - if no better will have to isolate. I complained of stomach ache and OH said "youre displaying signs of egg bound " poor man has heard me fretting over this hen.

A year in and I've had it easy - eggs from day 1 - no fox attacks, red mite etc and only moulting now - am I now in for a hard time. Can I cope - will I sucumb to broodiness or worse.

When do you graduate as an expert - cos I still feel at times out of my depth.
